The next time you take a trip to Columbia State Community College’s Webster Athletic Center you’ll surely recognize a big change. The school is currently undergoing a complete renovation in the athletic department which will include a new heating/cooling system. All of the coaches and athletic director offices will get a makeover. AD Katie Willingham said, “the construction during the 2024 summer is expected to be completed in the fall. The main addition that is taking place is the installation of the heating and air system in the gym. This inclusion is a much needed desire of Columbia State’s for our athletes and graduates since the graduation ceremony takes place here. The gym is also going to get a new paint job.”
The baseball, basketball, softball and soccer coaches will now all be located in the same section of the center. Women’s soccer coach Kean Barclay will have his office moved to that area. AD Willingham said, “the athletic department is also getting a renovation of coaches’ offices. New flooring, paint and furniture is expected during this time.” She said, “they are excited to see the new updates to the Webster Athletic Building.” Completion is expected by the fall of 2024.
