Post 19 Baseball has been playing for 89 straight years. This year will be Post 19’s 90th year. The team has been one of the best in the country. Post 19 has won numerous Tennessee American Legion State Titles, three regional titles, and one American Legion World Series title. The 2007 Post 19 team won the American Legion World Series in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Post 19 won the 2014 Mid-South Regional in North Little Rock, Arkansas. That earned them a berth in the American Legion World Series in Shelby, NC for the 3rd time. Post 19 ended the tournament in 5th place.
In 2019, Post 19 and Tennessee will be back in the Mid-South Regional for the 2nd straight year.
The success of the team reflects greatly on high school baseball in middle Tennessee. The squad has been made up of players from Columbia and the surrounding region since its inception.
Columbia Post 19 is a member of the American Legion Baseball League. The Post 19 Baseball team is based out of Columbia, Tennessee
This years’ team will be directed by a great coaching staff, which includes head coach Scott Beasley. Scott is entering his 8th season with Post 19 and 7th as Head Coach. As a player for Post 19 he was a member of the 2007 AL World Series winning team and was named to the All-tournament team. Assisting Scott will be Chris Sockwell, Alex McKelvy and Peyton Sockwell.
Chris is beginning his 1st season with Post 19. He has coached amateur baseball across many levels. Chris will be the bench coach for Post 19.
Alex is entering his 2nd season as assistant coach for Post 19. Alex is finishing his Senior season at Martin Methodist University where he is a multiple year starter. Alex played for four years in the Post 19 program. He was a member of the 2014 team that made it to the ALWS. Alex was also State tournament MVP one season for Post 19.
And Peyton is entering his first season on the Post 19 Coaching Staff. Peyton played four years for the Post 19 program. Peyton was a member of the 2014 American Legion World Series team. He is also a former Tennessee State Legion Baseball MVP. Peyton was a four year starter at short-stop for the University of North Alabama. Peyton is in the top 10 of several UNA Lion records.
Post 19 will begin their season June 4 as they host Pulaski Post 60 at Columbia State Community College, which is their home field again this year.
