Forrest Rockets’ Micah McClendon Remains Hospitalized!

Forrest Rockets’ football player Micah McClendon remains in a medically induced coma at Vanderbilt Medical Center today following a 5-hour surgery Saturday morning. No other information has been released, but TSN has learned McClendon suffered a fractured spinal cord injury.

The sophomore was injured during a tackle of a Moore County receiver in the 3rd quarter of their contest with the Raiders Friday evening.

Reports from Sunday also indicated Micah was put on a ventilator to help him breath better.

The Forrest High community has stepped up for McClendon and his family. Since he is expected to be hospitalized for some time, during this COVID-19 pandemic, the Chapel Hill community held a prayer vigil Sunday night at the school. A donation box was set up for gift cards to be used for the family while at Vanderbilt. It was a great success according to Athletic Director Oakey Gaskill.

CHES has also ordered #MicahStrong11 wristbands to sell for $2.00 with all proceeds going to Micah. And this Saturday (9-19), Forrest High baseball coach Andy Burkett & band #HarveyTooBass will be playing a benefit at Howlin Hill Stage from 7-10pm. All proceeds will go directly to Micah and his family. Gates open at 6:30. Howlin Hill is located on Highway 412.

The Town of Chapel Hill has more stuff planned to help. TSNSports will update this story as soon as we get more.
