Four Columbia State Lady Charger Freshmen Soccer players received TCCAA honors today being named to the Region VII All-Region team for 2022. And one being also selected as “Freshman of The Year”.
Kaylie Mehlenbeck of Silverdale, Wa. received Freshman of The Year honors & was also selected 1st Team All-Region. Mehlenbeck started 14 matches and was a crucial part in several Lady Chargers wins. She scored 5 goals with 12 assists producing 22-points.
Joining Kaylie was freshman Savannah Haupt of Clarksville, TN. Haupt was selected 1st Team All-Region. Savannah was vital to the Lady Chargers starting 10 matches scoring 7 goals producing 15-points.
Receiving Region VII Honorable Mention was freshman Moriah Melikian of Columbia, TN. Moriah started 13 matches knocking down 4 goals, had 5 assists and 13-points during the season.
And freshman MaKenzie Campbell of Portland, TN. was the fourth player selected. MaKenzie started 11 matches and was one of the best GoalKeepers in the TCCAA. MaKenzie played 890-minutes with an outstanding 38-save performance and a .704 percentage. Campbell recorded 3 shutouts in 2022.
