Highly Touted Marshall County Guard Announces His College Choice!

Tennessee’s Class-AA Mr Basketball of 2018 Kadrion (KJ) Johnson has announced that he will continue his education and basketball career close to home. Johnson announced on Twitter Wednesday night that he has committed to Lipscomb University in Nashville.

According to reports Johnson had several offers, including Campbell, UT-Martin, Tennessee Tech, Morehead State,  North Alabama, Murray State, ETSU, Lipscomb, and Western Kentucky.

KJ, along with being named Mr Basketball in Class AA last year, also was named 12AA All District  and Region 6AA, in both his sophomore and junior years. This summer he has traveled the country playing on the EAB Tigers AAU team. The team finished 28-4 and captured championships in Georgia and Alabama. Johnson’s high game was against the highly regarded Bobby Maze Elite squad knocking down 43-points.

The 6’2″ 145lb 2019 guard will be looking to win back to back Mr Basketball awards and hopefully lead his Marshall County Tigers to a 2A Tennessee state tournament championship. Johnson and his team will be live on TennesseeSportsNet.com when they play the Forrest Rockets January 15th and February 1, 2019.
