Middle Tennessee Coaching Icon Steps Away From The Game!

As Hillwood High School in Nashville prepares to close its doors in May 2023, longtime football head coach also prepares step away. TSNSports received this press release from marketing director Clifton Mitchell:

Head Hillwood High School football coach, Tom Moore, an icon of Middle Tennessee football since the 80s, has decided to take some time away from the game. Hillwood will close its doors for good in May to make way for Metro Nashville Public Schools’ first new high school since 2008. The new Lawson High School opens August of 2023 with a state-of-the-art 140-million-dollar picturesque campus set on 274 jaw-dropping acres in the community of Bellevue on western boarder of Davidson Country.

Lawson High School administration, in partnership with current Hillwood head football coach Tom Moore, are announcing the search for the head football coach that will launch and lead the new Lawson Lightning football program.  The Lightning will compete in Division I, Class 5A, Region 6 as part of the TSSAA.

This will be a highly coveted head coaching position attracting proven coaches throughout the southeast and beyond. Lawson High School will benefit from the growing community of Bellevue that has longed to have their own high school for more than four decades.
