NJCAA DI Men’s/Women’s Basketball Championship Will Push Back Start!

The 73rd NJCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship will take place at the Sports Arena in Hutchinson, Kansas, instead of starting March 16th and running through the 21st, the NJCAA has decided to delay the tournament until April 20th. The 2020 Women’s D1 Championship at Rip Griffin Center Lubbock, Texas has also been pushed back to the April 20th as the tentative start date.

The 2020 edition of The Tournament marks the 72nd consecutive year the event will be hosted by Hutchinson and organized and directed by the American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68. 

The Tournament features the top 24 teams in Division I men’s basketball of the NJCAA. The single-elimination seeded bracket is comprised of 16 District Champions and eight at-large selections. The top eight seeds receive first-round byes. 

Basketball fans from around the country travel to Huchinson each year for The Tournament to watch the best young collegiate basketball players compete for a national championship. With the newly renovated Sports Arena and great local hospitality, The Tournament is one of the top sporting events in the country.
