60 TSSAA Divison I & II teams from across the state of Tennessee will hit the field tonight for round 2 of their state playoff. Fans will flock into stadiums from east to west to cheer on their teams, while braving the temps expected tonight, which will be freezing in some areas. 41 degrees will be the number in middle Tennessee for the 7:00 kickoff and will be near freezing before games end. SO WRAP UP FANS.
There are several key matchup across the state tonight. A rematch in Class-4A between Tullahoma and Marshall County. The Wildcats won their earlier meeting 14-13 in week 3. This should be a great game in Tullahoma.
The #2 Cornersville Bulldogs will play host to Wayne County. The Bulldogs’ 1st string defense hasn’t been scored on this year. That feat may be broken tonight.
The #2 Columbia Academy Bulldogs make their longest journey this season, a two-hour trip to Waverly Tennessee for a match with the #1 seated Tigers. Tre Davidson will lead the Bulldogs into round 2 off his grand performance vs Hickman County last week. Davidson carried the ball 15 times for 305 yards and a 53 yard TD run. This game could turn out to be a quick-moving affair. Waverly with its methodical hurry-up offense has 2 potent runners that give you a lot of trouble. The Tigers racked up 425 total yards last week in their 32-19 win over Forrest. Montez Bradley rushed for 171 yards on 20 carries and 3 touchdowns. He and his QB Gavin Stanfield are a running machine. Stanfield can run, but he has a great arm. Stanfield passed for 168 yards and a TD and also rush for a score.
This game should be a good one. Fans will get their monies worth.
