TSSAA Board of Control met in Hermitage on Wednesday, March 1 to address several crucial items on their to-do-list. One of which concentrated on getting the flow of high school basketball quickened by a shot clock.
After a lengthy discussion regarding the feasibility of the implementation of a shot clock, the Board voted to permit the Tennessee Basketball Coaches’ Association to use a shot clock on an experimental level during their upcoming 2023 summer camps. They will also be getting feed back from member schools.
The Board also approved the contract naming Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium as host for the BlueCross Bowl football championships in 2023 and 2024.
The Board also had a discussion on a mandatory penalty when fans have been removed from contests. No action was taken in Wednesday’s meeting.
The board also voted to remove the current policy which places a $250 fine on schools who are wearing illegal uniforms in soccer and football. To read more on the meeting click the link below.
