Pellissippi State To Add Four New Sports teams In Fall 2024
The newest member of the Tennessee Community College Athletic Association will add men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball in the coming year.
Knoxville, TN – Athletics Director Brock Evans announced on Wednesday that starting in The Fall of 2024, Pellissippi State will begin competing in Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Softball.
This announcement comes after the college finished competing in its inaugural season of collegiate athletics, where it fielded Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Women’s Volleyball, Men’s Golf, and Cross Country/Half Marathon teams. This inaugural season brought much success to the institution in terms of athletic success and furthering the college’s goals.
With the addition of these four sports, Pellissippi State will become one of the premier community college athletics departments in the region and the largest department in the state with 12 sports. With the rich history and talent pool in the area, The Panthers will be competing with the best in the country. Having completed the probationary period for new programs, Pellissippi State will be eligible to compete in the postseason in 2024 for all sports.
“We are extremely excited to announce the creation of our men’s and women’s Basketball, Baseball, and Softball programs.” Director of Athletics Brock Evans said. “With the richness of talent in the region, we know that Pellissippi State will be able to compete for championships soon. We are dedicated to building championship-level teams with championship-level resources and coaching. We look forward to Fall 2024 and the beginning of this new chapter in Pellissippi State Athletics.”
Pellissippi State will join ten other schools in the TCCAA/NJCAA Region 7 competing in these sports.
Searches for well-qualified coaching candidates will begin immediately, with hopes of putting together teams to begin practicing and competing in The Fall of 2024.
