TSSAA BlueCross Bowl Kicks Off Thursday in Chattanooga!

The 56th annual TSSAA high school football championships will be held this Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga. The 2024 BlueCross Bowl will feature 18 teams from schools of all sizes and all parts of the state.

Brackets and rosters for the 2024 finalists series can be found at TSSAAsports.com. Fans can purchase advance tickets online through the end of the day Wednesday for $12 each. Beginning on Thursday, digital tickets purchased online through GoFan will be $15 each. Tickets are $20 at the gate.

Parking at Finley Stadium will be $15 per day, cash only. Parking attendants will be stationed at each entrance of the North Lot (between Main St. and the stadium). Parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. A Clear Bag Policy is in effect at the stadium and individual metal detection can be expected at Finley Stadium upon entry. The championship games will be carried on a statewide network of television outlets*. Live audio play-by-play, live stats and NFHS Network video streams can also be found at TSSAAsports.com. As part of game week preparations, TSSAA is holding a media availability for each of this week’s title contenders.

Division II-AA Championship
Battle Ground Academy (11-2) vs. Christan Progessive Academy (13-0)
Thursday, December 5th, 11:00 a.m.

These two region rivals met earlier this season, with CPA emerging victorious. BGA is relishing the underdog role and the chance to upset the undefeated powerhouse in their first championship appearance under new coach Bobby Bentley. CPA, seasoned championship contenders, are aiming for another title, driven by their 18 seniors. Both teams acknowledge the challenge and the unique opportunity presented by a local rivalry game on the state’s biggest stage.

Nashville Christian (11-1) vs. Columbia Academy (10-3)
Thursday, December 5th, 3:00 p.m.

Nashville Christian, led by junior quarterback and Mr. Football finalist Jared Curtis, enters as favorites following a decisive victory over Columbia Academy earlier in the season. They emphasize consistent practice and preparation as keys to their nine-game win streak. Columbia Academy, making their first championship appearance, is motivated by the previous loss and the chance to make history. They’re embracing the underdog role, eager to avenge their earlier defeat and claim their first championship victory.

Division II-AAA Championship
Baylor (12-0) vs. McCallie (10-2)
Thursday, December 5th, 7:00 p.m.

This city rivalry reignites for the championship game, mirroring last year’s thrilling contest. Both teams recognize the unique atmosphere and community pride surrounding the game, played in their hometown of Chattanooga. Baylor, boasting an undefeated record, are focused on maintaining their momentum and overcoming a talented McCallie squad. McCallie is eager for a second shot at the title against their rivals. The game features intriguing storylines, including Baylor quarterback David’s injury status and the potential of a packed Finley Stadium for the second consecutive year.
