Columbia State Women Soccer Record Their Fourth Straight Shutout Moving To 5-0!

The CSCC Lady Chargers Soccer team opened the month of September with a strong showing on the road at WaBash Valley in Mt. Carmel, Illinois Friday.

The Lady Chargers got on the board in the first quarter with Destini Martinez (3) scoring a goal (2:00) off an assist from Abigale Alexander for a 1-0 lead that would grow larger in the first half.

CSCC playing great defense allowed WaBash Valley only 3 shots in the match against their 15. The second score was off the foot of Abigale Alexander at the 8 minute mark making the score 2-0. Assist from Amelia Greenwald. Alexander (2) would put her name in the scoring column once again in the 12th minute on an asset from Emily Campos for a Lady Chargers 3-0 advantage.

Cruz Grinolds

Columbia State’s final goal came at the 41:00 mark in the first half as Cruz Grinolds (3) scores to give CSCC a 4-0 lead. The Lady Chargers hold the Warriors scoreless, their third straight shutout in the young season. So far this year CSCC have scored 13 goals while giving up only 2.

Columbia State will play Lewis & Clark on Sunday Sept. 3 and will be at home in Ridley Sports Complex as they open TCCAA/NJCAA Region 7 play against Dyersburg State on Sept. 6th at 7pm cdt. TennesseeSportsNet will broadcast that game live.
