This weekend its week 11 of the TSSAA 2023 Football season. The action Thursday & Friday will feature, as we mentioned last weekend, several big games. 27 head-to-head matchups between region-leading squads will decide which one becomes region champion and 2 regions in the state have no Week 11 games that will impact the playoff pitcher as well.
Here are some of the great matchups across the state:
Class 1A Region 2 #1 Coalfield 6-0 plays 5-1 Rockwood and 5-1 Oliver Springs will face 4-2 Greenback.
Region 3, 4-0 South Pittsburg plays 4-0 Whitwell.
Region 4, Clay County vs Gordonsville both 2-0 to decided the four-team Region. Region 6 McKenzie takes on West Carroll each 4-0. In Region 8 MASE 4-0 and Memphis Middle College 4-0.
Class 2A Region 5, Loretto is playing for a 10-0, 7-0 season. The Mustangs travel to Mt Pleasant (5-1). In Region 8 Mitchell vs Fairly both 4-0.
Class 3A Region 2 features Kingston and Alcoa both 3-0. Giles County and Sequatchie each 3-0 in Region 4. Region 6 Fairview plays White House-Hertiage 3-0.
Class 4A Region 1 Elizabethton tangles with Greenville each 5-0. Region 5 Pearl Cohn hosts Marshall County each 6-0. Region 7 Haywood vs Dyer County 3-0 each. Region 8 Millington vs Melrose 3-0.
Class 5A Region 2 Knoxville West and Powell 3-0, Region 5 Shelbyville 5-0 and Tullahoma 4-1, Region6 Page 4-0 and Nolensville 3-1.
In Class 6A Region 2 Bradley Central 4-0 plays 4-0 Bearden. Region 3 Oakland 4-0 vs Riverdale 4-0.
Region 6 it’s Brentwood 4-0 plays 4-0 Ravenwood.
Division II Class A Jackson Christian vs Trinity Christian both 4-0 and Div. II Class AA CPA 5-0 plays Davidson Academy 4-1.
Advance tickets for the championship games can be purchased through GoFan at $12 each, allowing access to all three games each day. Attendees who prefer to purchase tickets at the gate are reminded that they are priced at $15 each. All spectators, school-age and older, are required to have a ticket to gain entry.
